Renew your registered trademark
Before drawing up your application
Note the following:
- You must renew your trademark every 10 years if you wish to keep it valid.
- The earliest you can renew your registration is one year before the expiry date, and the latest is six months after the expiry date.
- If you do not renew the registration until after the expiry date, you will have to pay a higher renewal fee.
Remember also the opportunity to specify your list of goods and services:
- Old registrations include lists of goods and services where the goods and services are set out in an inexact manner, as was typical of the time. In such cases, you should specify the list.
- If you do not specify your list of goods and services, the scope of protection for your trademark may be restricted permanently.
- Specify your list of goods and services at the latest when you apply to renew your trademark.
